On Saturday December 20, 1997, Controlled Demolition, Inc., visited Morgantown. Their objective was to fall a chimney that has stood on the WVU campus for more than 50 years.
The chimney was located on Beechurst Ave. beside Stansbury Hall The building was approximately 50 feet from the chimney on the left, the Mononghelia river running behind, and the PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) across the front within 70 feet.
The fire and police department assisted in closing roads, securing
the site and traffic control for this project. This series of pictures
took less than 10 seconds to take. Congratulations to CDI for another
job well done. Be sure and visit their home page at http://www.controlled-demolition.com.
