Why we want Collective Bargaining!!

Morgantown City Council is preparing the City budget for the upcoming fiscal year. This budget effects you the tax payer who expects the best public safety possible. Your Police Officers and Fire Fighters have asked for a small raise of a few cents an hour more than the City has proposed, but the City has turned them down.

The proposed budget will be the largest in the City's history. These are the best years our City has seen, with new jobs and economic development on the horizon.

It is time to fairly compensate your Police Officers and Fire Fighters for protecting your safety.

From 1986 to 1992 your Police Officers and Fire Fighters never received a cost of living raise. Is your protection not worth about .25 cents more an hour for a Police Officer? Your Fire Fighters are required to work 56 hours a week protecting your family and property. All they are asking for is. 16 cents an hour. Is this too much to ask for your safety?
